During this time thousands of animals- wildebeest, buffalo, and Oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steeple to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lion, leopard and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire is home to over 500 varieties of birds.

Have lunch and take a late afternoon game viewing drive returning for dinner and overnight at Holiday Fig Resort Campsite.

DAY 2 - Lake Manyara National Park

One of the World's largest Calderas, 20 km wide, Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the best Wildlife viewing areas where Black Rhinos can be seen in Tanzania. The crater at 2.286 m above sea level is the largest unbroken Calderas in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls, rising 610 m from the crate floor, it covers 260 km2 and is home to over 30.000 animals, almost half of them being zebra and wildebeest. Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site.

Today we drive across the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to visit Olduvai Gorge; continue into Seronera in the central Serengeti. The afternoon is spent on a game drive with overnight at Seronera Campsite. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world with columns of wildebeest, head to tail, trudging along their traditional migration routes.

This is an ideal place to take a Balloon Safari over the Serengeti.

(Balloon safaris and breakfasts in the bush can be organised by prior arrangements.)

DAY 5 - Serengeti National Park

At 06h30 start to take a game drive to Lobo in the remote Northern Serengeti. The Lobo area is one of the natural pathways for the yearly migration of the wildebeests. This area has one of the highest concentrations of lion in Africa. Overnight is spent at Lobo Campsite.

(Recommended to stay at Lobo Wildlife Lodge at this location.)

    DAY 6 - Lake Natron

Spend the day driving visiting the Wasso and Sonjo peoples, en-route to Lake Natron. Meet an ancient, traditional African way of life. This is a remote area; the drive is a long but a beautiful journey through dramatic harsh terrain. The journey is worth the effort to experience true rural Africa. The sheer scale of the place is out of this world. Lake Natron is also famed for its flamingo population. Although wildlife may be seen in this area; this location is not about game viewing; rather it is about experiencing the breathtaking space and immense views.

Overnight at Lake Natron Camp Site.
